Day 1
Arrival – Barbaresco & Alba

Morning: Arrival in Piedmont. Accommodation at a Relais de Charme , an ancient estate surrounded by vineyards between Monferrato and Langhe. Welcome aperitivo prepared with local specialties.

Afternoon: Trip to Barbaresco for a short walking tour in this tiny village of 500 inhabitants, famous across the globe for its DOCG red wine. Guided tour through an acclaimed local winery, followed by a wine tasting of Barbaresco and other elegant “reds”.

Evening: Walk in the historic center of the nearby medieval town of Alba, capital of Piedmontese enogastronomy and white truffles. Dinner in a typical Trattoria. Return to the Relais.

Day 2
Barolo and the great Langhe cuisine

Morning: Check-out from the Relais and transfer to the Barolo wine region. Stop at Monforte d’Alba for a short walking tour around this ancient and charming village. Guided tour to a celebrated winery: meeting with the winemaker, short walk through the vineyards and tasting an excellent Barolo. Transfer to the small Baroque town of Bra, famous for its sausage. Lunch comprising a selection of seasonal produce.

Afternoon:.Transfer to Turin and accommodation at an elegant central Hotel .

Day 3
Visit to the first Italian national park – the outstanding Parco del Gran Paradiso.

Departure from Turin to the Aosta Valley: this alpine region bordering Piedmont has the highest peaks in Europe! Meeting with official national park guide and excursion through the spectacular natural area of Cogne to appreciate the beautiful scenery and wildlife. Lunch at a local restaurant with traditional menu of polenta and other specialties of the Aosta Valley.

Afternoon: End of the tour and return to Turin. Free time for rest and relaxation.

Day 4
Turin , the first capital of Italy : “Grandeur” and Taste.

Torino – Piazza Castello
Morning : Visit to the spectacular Palace of Venaria Reale. This hunting and Leisure lodge of the Savoy royal court (17th century) is a Baroque masterpiece.
Afternoon: Meeting at the hotel with English speaking guide for tour itinerary in the center of Turin. A “classic” three-hour tour, visiting the most beautiful attractions the city has to offer: the Cathedral hosting the Holy Shroud, the Royal Palace, Roman ruins, and various masterpieces of the Baroque period. Gourmet break in a historic nineteenth-century cafè to taste their chocolate and other seasonal delicacies.

Evening: Dinner at a selected restaurant . Return to the hotel.

Day 5
Cinema and lake

Morning : Check-out from the Hotel. Morning dedicated to visiting the unique Cinema museum located in the Mole Antonelliana, the symbol of Turin. Visit to the summit using a panoramic lift from which you can admire the city in all its splendor surrounded by the Alps.

Transfer to the lake district in northern Piedmont. Arrival in Stresa on Lake Maggiore and accommodation at an elegant Hotel with a lake view.

Day 6
Grand Tour of the Borromean Islands

Boat trip on Lake Maggiore stopping at the romantic Borromean Islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei pescatori. Reknowned for their fairy-tale palaces and noble gardens, these jewels of the water have been the tourism destination for the elite since the nineteenth century. Isola Bella: English tour of the famous Palazzo Borromeo. Lunch on Isola dei Pescatori featuring fish and other local specialties. Return to Stresa and hotel.

Day 7
Departure

Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to Milano airport. Good-bye Piedmont / Italy .
